გამარჯობა - welcome 🤝

My name is Ketevani Kapanadze. I am a Research Fellow at European Research University (ERUNI). I obtained my Ph.D. in Economics and Econometrics from CERGE-EI and was a visiting researcher at the MIT Center for Real Estate. I am a member of the CERGE-EI Foundation Teaching Fellows and a researcher at the Center for Issues of Inequality and Open Society (CONOS), Faculty of Law, Charles University.

My research interests lie at the intersection of urban and regional economics, economic geography, and political economy, with a particular focus on Europe and its border regions. I am interested in understanding how spatial frictions and political institutions influence regional and urban inequalities. To address limitations in geospatial economic data, I employ modern techniques to collect unconventional data from open sources and use remotely sensed imagery, including daytime and nighttime satellite data, in my analyses.
